In recognition for the church’s hospitality in providing a weekly venue for the choir’s rehearsals, church members and friends were invited to a free evening concert on Wednesday 29th March at 7:30 pm.
Durham Scratch Choir, is a community choir that prides itself on drawing members from all backgrounds and walks of life. The choir have an interest in singing and performing songs from many different times, communities and traditions.
The choir thus performed an interesting repertoire of gospel and spiritual songs, American blues contemporary English and local folk, Ukrainian, Venezuelan and African music, all of which were most enjoyable and entertaining.
Refreshments were served during the concert break.
In 2021 the choir celebrated its 25th anniversary, with their original Musical Director, Andy Jackson.
