Remembering Dr Arthur Banister

tree plantingA Pear Tree (Pyrus communis ‘Conference’) was planted in memory of Dr Arthur J Banister (1932-2021)  Emeritus Chemistry Reader, Durham University, in Flass Vale Local Nature Reserve, Durham.

Family and friends gathered around the tree to remember the many happy memories of Arthur, his joy and faith, husband, father and grandfather, a chemist and founder member of the Waddington Street Centre, and Flass Vale Local Nature Reserve, Durham.

Canon Peter Dodds, a former industrial chaplain paid tribute to Arthur, and the Revd Ray Anglesea led the prayers.

A reception was held later at the Kingslodge Inn, Waddington Street, Durham.
