St John’s College Chapel Choir concert

We warmly welcomed back to Waddington Street, for the first time since Lockdown,  St John’s College Chapel Choir, who gave us a splendid concert focusing on works by Vaughan Williams and Parry. The choice of Vaughan Williams was specially appropriate as 1872 is both the 150th anniversary of his birth, and the 150th anniversary of our church – so in every way it was a real celebration of wonderful music.

After the concert musicians and audience mingled in the church hall for a buffet supper provided by members and friends of the congregation.

The evening raised £600 for the Pakistan Floods Appeal and the Ukrainian Humanitarian Appeal of the Disasters Emergency Committee.
