An ecumenical service for ‘The Season of Creation was held in our church on Sunday 1st October.
The ecumenical season of Creation is held each year from September 1st to October 4th, the feast of St. Francis of Assisi.
The joyous Sunday afternoon service of celebration of community bounty and shared exuberance together with a lament of the destruction and disruption of our environment was led by ecumenical church leaders in the city, followed by a delicious tea.
Guests were invited to view an exhibition mounted by Friends of Flass Vale Local Nature Reserve, Durham City who this year are celebrating their 50th anniversary.
